Our Story

El Pueblo Se Defiende
Oc Nocetonal, Oc Mocetonal
Tiocfaidh Ár Lá

The Pirate Medics team was formed in January, 2026, in response to increased aggression from federal agents, and in direct response to the shootings of our neighbors, including:

  • Marimar Martinez in Chicago, IL
  • Silverio Villegas Gonzalez in Franklin Park, IL
  • Renee Good in Minneapolis, MN
  • Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, MN

A team comprised of EMS instructors, Critical Care Paramedics, Paramedics, EMTs, and a nurse joined together to train several passionate civilians in the art of first aid and basic medicine. From there, the team has gone on to hand craft a curriculum designed to support rapid responders, protestors, and neighbors to care for each other in extremis, with the hope that the skills would never be needed.

We were founded on the blood of our neighbors, and are guided by our commitment to protecting each other.
